How to be Candid..and capturing it in photographs..

People often come in and love our work because of our candid photographs. We appreciate that very much and honestly we would much rather follow you around strictly taking photos of you acting like yourselves instead of "directing you."

However, people do want photos with their families. Of course they do! Who doesn't want a photo with their mom and dad on their wedding day? We try very hard to just "capture you as you are" but, alot of people freeze in front of the camera. Or we will be getting the best shot of mom looking at you and you will suddenly turn and smile at us, making it looked "posed." To help with this problem we sometimes ask you to talk to one another and try to ignore that we are there. We may ask you to move into better light instead of a dark corner because we know lighting and we know the photo will turn out better there.

Things we cannot do is change your personality. If you are not an outgoing person, it will not show up in your photos. If you don't have a bubbly personality and are more of a subdued type, well that is what we are going to capture. We don't want you to act un-natural. Your photos are a reflection of who YOU ARE. We help if we can but, ultimately it is you who creates the romance, spontaniety, fun, and candid moments in your photos....we just capture what happened that day.
