Our photograph will be published in Revolver Magazine!

Dean Guitars has asked to use our photograph of Dave Mustaine from Megadeth in their upcoming ad in Revolver Magazine! It will be featured in Augusts issue. We are thrilled! Megadeth has been on tour for months in Europe and the United States and photographed by hundreds of photographers and they choose ours! Here is what the full page ad will look like. Megadeth's Gigantour!

Megadeth kicked off their US tour right here in Colorado and we were there to photograph it! What a blast! We will have all the photos up from the show up soon but, for now here are a couple of Dave Mustaine....ENJOY!

DOA 2008

Ryan was lucky enough to go to Florida for the Dean Owners of America Convention. He met and photographed the owner and the founder of Dean Guitars. He was also able to do some live concert photography of Vinnie Moore, Michael Angelo Batio, Bill Peck and some other well known artists. Needless to say, he was like a kid and a candy store! Oh, and he couldn't leave without a new guitar for himself! Hopefully, next year I can join in the fun...

Well, we have started a new website: RocknRollPhotography.com ! We originally were going to add a music catagory to blackforestphoto.com but, decided why not build a whole new website dedicated just too music! Ryan and I love music and go to concerts a lot. We are hoping to do more interviews, CD covers, live performance photography, and musician portraits. But we still love our weddings! Check out the new site! It is still partially under contruction but, you will get the idea. Here are some guitar shoots we have done lately. Enjoy!

Guitar Lovers... This is for you.

If you are a guitar afficionado, you will no doubt recognize the manufacturer, Dean Guitars. You may also (if you are of the heavy metal persuasion) recognize the band name 'Jag Panzer'. It just so happens that their guitar player, Mark Briody lives in Colorado Springs and is a friend of ours. It also happens that he is a Dean Guitar endorsed artist, and has one of the first production models of the new Dean Soltero guitar. Dean guitars needed a shot of the guitar with Mark, and luckily... He called me up. Since I'm an old school metal drummer, I was more than happy to oblige... ('giddy' is more like it). The shoot went wonderfully. It was nice to perform a 'commercial' shoot without the normal pressure and deadlines associated with them. So check out the photo toward the bottom of the Dean home page, click on it for a larger version (and story). If you search around the Dean Forum, Mark was also kind enough to post a photo there and a quick note about the shoot. I also invite you to support our local musicians and hey... if you have got $5,000 burning a hole in your pocket... check out the new Dean Soltero guitar (about $7k once it's souped up like Mark's). He assures me, you won't be sorry. Oh, and no... I never actually touched the piece... I'm not known for my finesse behind the drum kit, so it is probably better that way. -Ryan

p.s. Mark has also recently been chosen to represent Engl Amplifiers, and his band Jag Panzer has been chosen to headline for the Keep it True festival in Germany in 2008 (not too far from where I grew up!)
