Colorado Springs Maternity Portraits on a Rainy Day!

A couple of days ago I photographed Cassie's maternity portraits. Now if you live in Colorado Springs you know that we were having major thunderstorms for a couple of days. Cassie called me to see what we should do about the shoot. She was due anytime to have the baby and the other important factor was her husband would be deployed again so we only had a certain window of opportunity and everyone knows babies come when they want to! We decided to take our chances and see if the rain would pass and Cassie was great about walking in the wet grass. The soft light actually makes gorgeous photos and the rain had broke for a bit while we photographed. Thank you Cassie and Seth for letting me share your first pregnancy portraits with you!

Leticia's Maternity Portraits in Colorado Springs

I got to photograph Leticia and her lovely family yesterday. They were such good sports because it was freezing! We did have great light for some wonderful portraits though so I am glad they stuck through it and also happy we got her maternity photos done before her little one arrives!

Melissa's Maternity Shoot-Colorado Springs Maternity Portraits

My first of the two maternity shoots I did this past Sunday was Melissa. She is expecting her second baby boy. Her first son was so sweet and picked me a dandelion while we were photographing! Tracy & Bob's Maternity Portraits

Tracy and Bob are a wonderful couple that we had the pleasure of photographing their wedding in 2008. I was thrilled to get a call from them to tell me that they were expecting a little boy and wanted to get some maternity portraits done. Tracy and Bob got married outside among some towering aspen trees and I loved that we found some aspens to photograph them in for their maternity photos also. Congratulations to this beautiful couple on their new baby!

Meghan's Maternity Portrait's and new baby portraits!

Meghan came to see us for those special portraits...maternity portraits. As we always say, we love photographing woman during their pregnancy. They are just so stunning and it is such a miraculous time! Meghan was absolutely beautiful and she brought along her son to be in some of the photos with her to welcome his new sister! Natasha came in while she was in labor for her maternity portraits! And yes, she did have her baby that day...thankfully not in our studio! She was such a good sport and we waited patiently between contractions to take each shot! I love the one of her laughing! Maternity portraits are some of our favorite photos to do! Maternity & Newborn Portraits

We are lucky to be part of Sarah & Jonathan's life. We have photographed their wedding and Sarah returned for her maternity portraits. Soon there after, the whole family retuned for pictures with the little guy. Jonathan is heading off to Iraq for 15 months. His little boy is going to grow so much in that time. We wanted to capture how small he was, so we had Jonathan cradle the baby's head in his hands. What a blessing it is to preserve such prescious moments in people's lives.

Laura and Chris were married two years ago ( on May Day) at the Briarhurst Manor. Even though it was May, it snowed! They were alot of fun to photograph. You can view some of their wedding photos here. Now our lovely couple is expecting their first baby ( a boy!) So they came back to see us for maternity portraits. We will see them again in a month for baby photos too! Congratulations you guys!

Maternity photos are one of our favorites to shoot! It is such a beautiful time in a woman's life. I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about my pregnancies! Lori and Kurt were such a wonderful couple. This will be their first child. Lori brought this amazing scarf. She is just stunning!
