Guitar Lovers... This is for you.

If you are a guitar afficionado, you will no doubt recognize the manufacturer, Dean Guitars. You may also (if you are of the heavy metal persuasion) recognize the band name 'Jag Panzer'. It just so happens that their guitar player, Mark Briody lives in Colorado Springs and is a friend of ours. It also happens that he is a Dean Guitar endorsed artist, and has one of the first production models of the new Dean Soltero guitar. Dean guitars needed a shot of the guitar with Mark, and luckily... He called me up. Since I'm an old school metal drummer, I was more than happy to oblige... ('giddy' is more like it). The shoot went wonderfully. It was nice to perform a 'commercial' shoot without the normal pressure and deadlines associated with them. So check out the photo toward the bottom of the Dean home page, click on it for a larger version (and story). If you search around the Dean Forum, Mark was also kind enough to post a photo there and a quick note about the shoot. I also invite you to support our local musicians and hey... if you have got $5,000 burning a hole in your pocket... check out the new Dean Soltero guitar (about $7k once it's souped up like Mark's). He assures me, you won't be sorry. Oh, and no... I never actually touched the piece... I'm not known for my finesse behind the drum kit, so it is probably better that way. -Ryan

p.s. Mark has also recently been chosen to represent Engl Amplifiers, and his band Jag Panzer has been chosen to headline for the Keep it True festival in Germany in 2008 (not too far from where I grew up!)

Michael & Su's Wedding

Congratulations to Su and Michael who were married this past Saturday, April 28th at St. Andrews with a reception at the Cliffhouse. It was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple. If you are engaged and looking for a reception (ceremonies too!) location, you should definately check out the Cliffhouse. The hotel is exquisite, the staff are awesome ( thanks Kristin, Tiffany, and Sabina!), and the food is unbelievable!

I just finished Jennifer and Shawn's wedding album and got the big thumbs up to print it. Jennifer and Shawn were married at the beautiful Cliffhouse last November. Vacation!

We just returned from a trip to California. We stayed at the historic Hotel Del Coronado. It is such a unique place if you ever get the chance to go there and is reportedly haunted, which I believe! I heard some pretty strange noises at night! You can read about its history and the ghost of Kate Morgan here. We got the chance to go to Disneyland, San Diego Zoo and Sea World. While my favorite was Disney, my boys and Ryan love the beach. Now its on to Wedding Season!

Baby Portraits!

These are two of our favorites from a photo shoot we did with Lisa and her baby. Lisa used to work in the wedding business and we were thrilled she wanted us to photograph her little one! What a beautiful smile he has!

Being parents ourselves, we know how quickly our children grow up. It is so important to take lots of photos of them because they change so much. These are brothers that came in for thier portraits. You can tell by the photos how different their personalities are! How wonderful it is to capture that!

Maternity photos are one of our favorites to shoot! It is such a beautiful time in a woman's life. I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about my pregnancies! Lori and Kurt were such a wonderful couple. This will be their first child. Lori brought this amazing scarf. She is just stunning!

Growing up tooooo fast!

Ok, life is passing by too quick! It seems like we just did Kristin and Jonathan's senior portraits! But, in reality it was four years ago! We did photos of them seperately and together back then and now they are getting married in August! We just got done with their engagement portraits and we are so honored they came back to us for their wedding. We love having life long relationships with our clients!

Casey & Donnie's Candid Moments

Here are two of my favorite photos from Casey & Donnie's wedding. It made me smile when I saw Donnie kissing Casey's hands after their ceremony while they were waiting to enter ther reception. I was so glad to be at the right place at the right time to see and capture such an intimate moment. The one of the little girls is a classic! I love kids! Always keep your eyes on them at weddings, they make some great candid moments! Oh, and Casey's new married name is Casey Casey or as she says Casey squared!

Available Light with Emily & Greg

Natural and available light is one of the most beautiful lighting situations you can have. It is also one of the hardest for many photographers to master. We always look for sources of natural light and other light sources besides our flashes to play with. These are two from Emily and Greg's wedding ( Congratulations you guys!) They were married December 28th at First Presbyterian Church with a reception at The Cheyenne Mountain Resort. You may see all or their photos here. Make sure to check out the ones outside the church using the street lamp as our only source of light!
