Our Own Family Portraits

It has come time to photograph our own family for Christmas cards. Our boys are always thrilled when we make them dress up for family photo time. Well, not really! So we wrangled them together and managed to get a couple of good ones and yes, we had to bribe them with a treat!

A Thank You From Kristi

We photographed Kristi's maternity shoot awhile back. She finally brought her daughter in for some photos! She also emailed us this lovely thank you: "I just want to tell you how awesome you guys are. Thank you so much for the fantastic photo shoot today. Breckenridge with our boys

Well, we have been quite busy but, we have a tradition to buy our boys a new Christmas ornament every year. This year we decided to do it in Breckenridge. We took a little day trip and stopped on the way to do some fishing and take some "boy photos" in a cool old cabin. Breckenridge has no natural snow this year. It is quite scary. We have never seen it like that before. We had a great time, ate some fudge, bought our ornaments, and listened to some street musicians. We did not, however, catch any fish. Its nice to get away sometimes.

Jessica & Brent's Album

Jessica & Brent were married at the Garden of the Gods Club in May. We had a wonderful time with them and got to spend lots of time with just the two of them taking photos. Maternity & Newborn Portraits

We are lucky to be part of Sarah & Jonathan's life. We have photographed their wedding and Sarah returned for her maternity portraits. Soon there after, the whole family retuned for pictures with the little guy. Jonathan is heading off to Iraq for 15 months. His little boy is going to grow so much in that time. We wanted to capture how small he was, so we had Jonathan cradle the baby's head in his hands. What a blessing it is to preserve such prescious moments in people's lives.

We photgraphed a lovely family recently and their little girl loved the camera! The holdidays are a busy time for us with family portraits. We attempted our own this week, which is always a challenge! We love black and white for family photos. It is just timeless.

Thank Heaven for Little Girls

I have been experimenting with collages and have actually been selling alot of them! These are two that I actually made for our friends. One is of Randy and his sweet baby girl. Randy is an awesome entertainer who owns Randy Rodriguez Entertainment. The other is Bobby & Christy of Sensational Sounds little girl. They actually came in for maternity photos but, Taylin stole the show playing peek-a-boo with the background. I love my rough and tumble little boys but, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a little girl one day! If not, thats ok, we get to photograph so many little sweethearts.

Kelly & Scott's Briarhurst Wedding

Kelly & Scott were married on October 5th at the gorgeous Briarhurst Manor. I love October weddings! The colored trees make such beautiful backdrops! Of course, we always love photographing at the Briarhurst. We got married there ourselves and we love everything about the place. Tony & Kristyn's Engagement Portraits

We photographed Tony & Kristyn at Garden of the Gods a couple of weeks ago for their engagement portraits. ( I know, I am very behind!) Tony & Kristyn are planning a 2009 wedding. Tony is here at the Olympic Training Center where he is training to compete in wrestling. Kristyn is on the east coast. So, it was a joy to photograph the two of them while they visited each other over the weekend. Congratulations Tony & Kristyn!

Tis' The Season For Family Portraits

Its the time of year for family portraits. Its a great time for them because family get together for Thankgiving and people love to give portraits for holiday gifts. Grandparents especially love portraits of the grandkids or so ours tell us every year! Here is a gorgeous family we photographed last week. Working with little ones is always fun! Their ideas of what to do in portraits are always different then ours ( and mom and dad's!) Sometimes we bribe them with cookies (as seen above) But, sometimes sitting still and smiling for the camera is just not fun anymore and babies let us know this loud and clear! We did manage to get lots of cute photos but, we like to save the funny ones too! Enjoy!

Beverly & Eric's Briarhurst Wedding

Beverly & Eric were married on September 29th at the Historic Briarhurst Manor. We love the Briarhurst! Ryan & I were married there ourselves and there is just an abundance of beautiful places to take photographs. Anyway, Beverly & Eric saw each other before their ceremony which is always a wonderful idea, but is a particularly good idea in the fall when the sun goes down earlier. If you want to take advantage of the beautiful outdoor settings Colorado has to offer photos should be done before six in the evening. Jean-Marie Designs made some awesome bouquets that complimented the girls dresses perfectly and Sensational Sounds rocked the reception. Beverly & Eric did a whole Hawaiian Luau theme and everyone had a blast. The Briarhurst is always such a great place for a wedding! Congratulations Beverly & Eric! Erin & Toby's St. Patrick's, Cheyenne Mtn. Resort Wedding

Erin & Toby were married on September 15th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with a reception at The Cheyenne Mountain Resort. Toby is a Fireman and they were swooped away after the ceremony in a fire truck! Thanks so much to the Falcon Fire Station! It was a gorgeous September day and we had a blast at the reception! Congratulations to Tabitha & Francisco!

We had the pleasure of photographing Tabitha & Francisco's wedding on November 1st at the Rockledge Country Inn. Tabitha is on leave from Iraq for only 18 days and Francisco will be joining her in Iraq soon. Their's is a true love story. Francisco proposed to Tabitha while she was in Iraq sending her a care package with a ring ( not her real one) He did all the foot work and planning of the wedding while Tabitha helped by doing wedding planning via the web. It was a pleasure to photograph such a lovely couple. We wish you both the best. Thank you for letting us share your day with you!

Halloween Party Pics

First, let me apologize because we are so behind on the blog. We have weddings, engagement sessions, children, families, and maternity shoots I have not posted yet. However, I knew if I waited on the Halloween party photos, they would not show up until Thanksgiving. So here you go. We threw a big Halloween bash at the studio. One because I love Halloween. Not fall festival, HALLOWEEN! We celebrated Halloween when I was a kid at school and church ( and it was called Halloween) and no one was bringing guns to school shooting up half their classmates and teachers then! But, I will save that rant for another time. This is about photos. We also wanted to celebrate our winning the 1st place award for the best photographer in Colorado Springs by the Independent Newspaper. Yvonne from the Indy came to the party and brought our plaque and stayed and partied with us awhile. She is bringing her darling little grand daughter in for photos next week so we will be sure to post those soon too. We had a great time with friends, family, other wedding associates, and our clients who, of course make this all possible. Here are some photos of the fantastic night we had. Hey, if we win next year, we might make this a tradition! Even if we don't we still might make it a tradition! It was just so much fun!

Corrine& Bill's St. Mary's Cathedral & Antler's Hilton Wedding

Corrine & Bill were married on September 8th at St. Mary's Cathedral with a reception at the Antler's Hilton. However, we did all of their photos before the wedding in the little demostration gardens by Memorial Park. The feelings the couple share with each other with no one else around ( except us, far away with zoom lenses) is just incredible. You cannot duplicate that any other way at any other time. Congratulations Maureen & Josh!

Maureen & Josh were married this past Saturday, Ocotober 27th at the Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel with a reception at Phantom Canyon. WOW was it cold! But, Maureen and Josh were all smiles and even walked down town later in the evening for some city light photos. Keep an eye out for all of Maureen & Josh's photos in the next few weeks.
